How long does it take for melanoma biopsy results to come back?

Results for a biopsy usually take 1 – 2 weeks, depending on the doctor and lab! Stay strong, ! Any Suggestions here?

    It depends completely on the pathologist it was sent to and how busy he/she is. Pathologists normally examine tissues in the order they are received, unless a tissue is marked stat. It takes time to prep the tissues for examination and then

    I think it differs from country to country. iIn the country I live in now, I have to wait 3 weeks for my results.     It depends completely on the pathologist it was sent to and how busy he/she is! Pathologists normally examine tissues in the order they are received, unless a tissue is marked stat! It takes time to prep the tissues for examination and then additional time to examine the slides! If the pathologist runs into something he/she is unsure of, the tissues may be sent to another pathologist that specializes in that type of disease! After examination, the results are then put into a report format and sent back to your doctor! It would probably be safe to say it should take no longer than two weeks in most cases, but you could get a result in as little as one week! Dont let a longer time frame concern you! It doesnt mean he/she found something bad, it just means the pathologist is busy!
