What are the side effects of having very low vitamin d?

Symptoms of bone pain and muscle weakness can mean you have a vitamin D deficiency! However, the symptoms are subtle! Also include increased risk of death from cardiovascular disease, cognitive impairment in adults, severe asthma in children! Any Suggestions here?
