I pierced 7 holes in my ears with safety pins when I was alot younger! I pierced countless ears and noses back in the day! I never experienced any problems! My rule was bring your own brand new needle, I provided the iodine and rubbing alcohol, bring your own jewelry, and we went for it! No problems! I never had 1 person come back and complain that they were infected! And I did this all through junior high and high school! I did, however, get my nose done at a professional shop! I had infections, falling out jewelry, and it took like 6 months to heal all the way! My nose piercings healed in 2 weeks, cartilage piercings in 4, and it was all good! Looking back, it was probably a dumb idea to do it for other girls, but I did require prepackages piercing needles! I say you should be alright! Just sterilize everything really good, and have a steady hand! Keep it clean! Dont touch it without washing your hands first! Put a tiny band-aid over it before you go to bed so it won;t snag on your pillowcase and fall out! And who knows?? You may keep your nose ring the rest of your life! I have had mine for 15 years and I love it! Good luck to you!
