    Where does it go to in an adult person? What is it attached to? Can it be used for a surgical purpose?
    In a baby, it feeds from the mother. in an adult person, it must go somewhere? If you twingle your belly button, you can feel twinges or toingling inside of you…or is it just me?

    I’m getting confused with this. If the umbilical cord is involved in the delivery of oxygenated blood to the fetus and removal of deoxygenated blood, why do chorionic villi exist since they do the same thing?

    Just to clarify, the nurse on the show claimed the baby stopped breathing in the womb. I always thought the baby just borrowed oxygenated blood from the mother. How could it ‘stop’ breathing?

    I know that the ductus venosus and the foramen ovale are two shunts that alter the blood flow in the fetal heart but it appears to me that they allow oxygenated blood to mix with deoxygenated blood and I don’t understand why that is. What other differences are there?
