Its like any other infection, it gets in and tries to take over your body! In previously healthy people who end up dying, its usually the result of swine flu turning into something worse, such as pneumonia! Viral infections are difficult to treat, unlike bacterial infections, so there are very few options available in the way of medicine and the medicines that do exist arent particularly effective! In the case of the 1918 influenza pandemic, it was actually the healthiest people who were most likely to die! This was because the virus caused the immune system to overreact and attack the bodies own lungs! Stronger immune system = stronger attack on your own body! This isnt the case with swine flu though, so dont worry too much! =)
