Gastroenteritis isn’t actually a flu at all but a viral infection, and it is highly contagious! Practice good hand washing! Any Suggestions here?

Depends on the bacteria! Many are 24 to 48 hours for things like strep (strep throat) or basic staph infections! Some are 5 days for things like Meningococcal or Pertussis! However, antibiotics wont have any impact on viruses! Respiratory flu and colds are usually viral so the antibiotics are not for her flu but her pneumonia if it is indeed caused by a bacteria! Pneumonia is a condition not a single disease, although most pneumonias are caused by streptococcal pneumoniae bacteria, they can also be cause by fungal infections (not contagious) or viruses, etc!
