Is melanoma hereditary?

Most melanomas (about 90%) are considered sporadic, meaning that the damage to the genes occurs by chance after a person is born! Any Suggestions here?

    Some types are hereditary and the only way to know if for your dad to be tested! Usually the oncologist will suggest testing if they believe it is a hereditary type and they do not happen often!
