How long does menopause last once it begins?

Menopause symptoms can last from 6 mo to over 10 yr & range from nonexistent to severe! Estrogen fluctuations begin 1 year before! Any Suggestions here?

    Ive been an RN for many years! Actually what your feeling could be several different things! It without a doubt could be menopausal symptoms! Simple blood tests will be able to tell you what is going on and how to correct it!As far as the weight gain, stomach bloating, irregular menstrual flows! I just went thru something like this with my daughter! Her testosterone level was almost double what it should have been! The feeling cold and weight gain could indicate a thyroid disfunction!Make sure when the doctor does lab work that along with regular hormonal blood test, he or she runs a testostrone level and thyroid T3 T4 levels! If they are normal at least they can be ruled out! Never the less, blood work is your best bet and simpliest way to get the most accurate answers! wwrn
