How many hours of sleep should a 17 year old girl get?

8 hours of sleep a night is what most people need, although teens may need more (like 10 hrs) – this is normal! Any Suggestions here?

Normal is what your body needs. The best way to find out how many hours of sleep you need, is to go to bed when you feel sleepy and wake up by yourself with no help of alarm clock and feel rested. Some people need more than 8 hours and some

Answer Eight hours of sleep is the usual recommendation, but the actual amount of sleep you need varies with age and other factors. From personal experience I think teenagers need more sleep. Source:http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_many_hours_of_sleep_should_a_17_year_old_be_getting

It really depends on your body!Pay attention to how you react when you get different amounts of sleep! If you find yourself having trouble paying attention, performing slower intellectually, yawning, craving more caffeine, or any other symptoms of sleep deprivation, you need to increase the amount of hours you get!It is possible to sleep TOO MUCH, as well! If youre sleeping a lot, (more than nine hours, say) and waking up slowly, dragging out of bed, procrastinating in the morning, and other stuff like that, try to get up a little earlier! Youll have the most energy when you find the balance between not enough and too much sleep! Youll feel competent and wont need caffeine! It wont be hard to get up in the morning and it wont be hard to fall asleep! There isnt a magic number, though! The amount of sleep you need depends on the day, how much exercise youve gotten, what youve eaten, your stress level, genetics, and probably a hundred other factors! Im an eighteen year old girl, and I sleep about five hours a night and feel wonderful! My best friend, (17 like you) cant function with less than nine or ten hours!
