1 You must help the baby distinguish between day time sleeping and night time sleeping. Do not make their room too dark during the day time naps so that they will start realizing that darkness means sleep for a LONG period of time. 2 Next, … Source:http://www.ehow.com/how_4999660_child-sleep-hours-through-night.html

Good bedtime routine is essential! Use a lavender baby bath wash! Its soothing and promotes sleep!Give her her bottle before bed! Not to go to sleep with! This is part of why she is waking in the night! No more night time bottles! She does not need this! Its become habit!I would not use a sound machine! All she needs is a dark bedroom! No night light!Make sure all the normal household sounds are going on, like TV etc!Dont make the biggest mistake ever and put her crib in your bedroom!Keep bedtime low key!It may take you a week to sort this out, but thats not long in the great scheme of things! You MUST be consistent! Stay calm or she will pick up on that, straight away!Use a timer, its better than clock watching!Stay strong! Dont give in, or you will be back to square one!Put her to bed, kiss night night!Leave the room! shut the door!Wait 5 minutes! Go back in, lay her down, if shes up! DO NOT pick her up, quietly reassure her and say its time for sleep! Not too much interaction! keep it short and quick!Leave! Wait 5 minutes! return! Do the same every time and repeat, repeat, repeat! Every 5 minutes!Until she eventually will go to sleep! Because she knows you wont give in! And that you are still there!Do exactly the same when she wakes at night! It will be hard, but it WILL work! I know you will be tired! But if she senses a chink in your armour! It wont work and all the hard work will be for nothing!Babies have to learn to self settle and when they learn it properly, will go back to sleep by themselves!Give her 5-10 minutes in the night to see if she will go back to sleep! Dont rush in straight away!
