I had this with my second daughter on more than one occasion! She was born at 32 weeks and had no negative side effects! There are side effects to every medication! If there were enough cases of a severe negative side effect then they wouldnt use the drug! This medication has been around for a long time! I wouldnt worry too much! It is more dangerous for your baby to be born early, and the risk of prematurity far outweighs the risks involved with the medication! It is possible that the brain damage side effect was the result of a baby that was just born too early and not from the med, and they were required to report it as a side effect because it occured after terbutaline was given!
